Dan went to get take out from stir fry cafe (one of our favorites) and we plan on watching a movie that came from Netflix today (Friends with money- jennifer aniston)
I have bought WAY too much Vera Bradley latley!! I carried my Medallian tote that I got from kellibaby today! So cute with a cranberry sweater and jeans and brown Crocs! Anyway, I bough the tote, also a Sherbert spectator, a citrus pocket mirror, and a pucci zip id all in the last 2 weeks. WOW!

I am very sad today. I just got an e mail that one of the moms in my mom's group lost her husband last night. He went in for open heart surgery and they had expected a good prognosis, however he did not make it. I do not know all of the details now as it happened such a short time ago. I feel for her and her two small children (6 and 3). I only hope I can think of something I can do to reach out to them.

We found out that Brendan will get his speech screening on next Monday. Then we will know if he qualifies for help like Lexie did. He seems to be saying more words than he did when I first called. He (at 25 months) now says: moma, daddy, papa, ball, car, doggie, down, out, more, baba, water (although he calls it agua-watching too much Diego), no, choo choo and can say the phrase "there you go" and this is funny- he learned "bye ya'll" today!

I saw this on the news and I was so mad!! I have never cared much for walmart and try to shop elsewhere whenever I can. Now I will not shop there again on matter of principle. This is everything that is wrong with corporate America.

I can't belive it has been so long since I posted here! I guess the craziness of the holidays has set in.
A few things: The aspergers teacher has ruled that lexie does NOT have Aspergers. we are now back to language delay with probably ADHD mixed in as well as some sensory intergration issues. She is still going to speech and OT twice a week.

thanksagiving was crazy!!! We got up and made cinnaman rolls and watched the parade. then we went to my parent's house where the kids were going NUTS!! I don;t know what is up with them latley.

Support the writer's strike! yes I know it sucks that we will miss some eps of our farvorites, but they deserve more tham they are getting.

I am glad to see Obama getting more support in the polls latley! YAY!!

My sarah community now has 17 members!!!

I am way behind on Christmas shopping. yes i did do the Black Friday thing (with both kids inhand)

Brendan has been playing peek a boo in the curtains today. i don;t think we will try to do too much while lexie is at school. I have the kids halloween costumes now. Brendan is going to be a pumpkin and lexie is goin to be Dora the Explorer. Today is my dad's birthdai, so I will try to call him later. I am trying to decide what to make for dinner tonight... I think I will go recipe surfing on the web in a minute. I will repost if i find something interesting.

warning: political rant ahead!

I am so sick of this pettiness going on both sides right now. why are we wasting time having votes to condem ads, Rush limbagh and now to condem the condemimg of rush limbaugh. enough already!!! Most of us would have already forgotten about this stuff if they didn't keep bringing it up. Do we really have nothing better to worry about than this??? It is petty and immature on both sides of the aisle. yes the moveon.org ad went over the line, but did we really need a congressional vote to condem it?? No, I do not like Rush limbaugh and he does not filter most of what he says before he lets it spew out, but why is congress wasting time on this?? How about eveybody stop playing politic and work together to end the damn war, fix health care, social security, the economy and everything else we should be  worrying about!!

Ok, I fell better now!

Good week so far. the kids seem to be in good spirits. We went to the park on saturday and the fresh air seemed  to do everyone good. We also spent some time out in the backyard on Sunday. My colts won!! yay! I hate that for dan that his Broncos lost. (not!) all kidding aside, he really took that like a champ!

I have started decorating the house for fall. I out leaf garland on the fireplace mantel as well as the halloween village houses. I do not nearlt as many of those as i do christmas village houses, but i don't like them as well so there you go. I also made an autumncenterpiece for the dining room table and out out pumpkins and scarecrows on the porch. I'll try to scan some pictures and post them here as well as in the autunm communities i belong to.

I haven't fallen off the veggie wagon yet! Brendan and I had lunch at Panera (yum). i had half the portebello and mozzeralla sandwich and a greek salad and he had the kids grilled cheese meal. I love that everything is organic, so I can feel good at about giving to to him.
We went after we went by the church to put up Pep mons posters. I am in charge of making them each month. Pep moms, is parents encourging parents and we meet every month. It is a really enjoyable moms group.

My Sarah Brightman community seems to be gaining members which is good. I was listening to "Time to say goodbye " in the car today. I had forgotten how amazing that cd is.

Well today has actually been a good day. After two "meltdown" days with Lexie she seems happy and content. She is doing a good job of expressing herself with words. Brendan has a little cold, butit is not too bad. He and I had fun playing while Lexie was in school.

I watched Jenny McCarthy and Holly Robinson Peete on larry King last night. I think they had some good idea I could try with lexie. I may remove dairy and wheat(glueten) from her diet and see what happens. She also eats too  much sugar. I was a vegetarian for years, married a meat eater and backslid. I am just now going back to my veg ways and think I might do the same ofr the kids. Lexie has never cared much for meat, but she loves all friuts and veggies. Brendan likes chicken, but he also loves veggie burgers. I have never given him a beef one so he doesnt know the difference right now. My biggest challenge is going to be being able to make meaks that I can slip meat in for dan. ( I can tell that he is not going to make the veggie move with us)

I wish thre school would tell me something new about the testing process with lexie. It's been a year and a half with no real diagnisis. very frustrating.

I wish I could get ny Sarah rightman community up and going. I don't have a list of all the members to the old one, so it is hard to send out invites.

I bought myself a present today/ I got the first celtic woman dvd cheap on e bay. I love them!! I also can't wait till tonight. dan and my favorite show (the office) has its season prenire tonight. yay.

well, time to go see what the kids are doing. I hear "Dora the Explore"r on TV

Its fall so I changed the look of my journal today. i was tired of looking at the pink stripes. I also joined two fall communities here. This is my favorite time of year. I love everything about it. The clolors of leaves changing, football parties and chili, decorations, kids in halloween costumes, scary movies, pumpkin and apple pies, the new smelling candles at yankee, pumpkin spice lattes at starbucks.

Ok I think I went on a tangent there. I guess I was just trying to keep my mind off of things. Our daughter lexie has been in special ed preschool for 2 years now due to laguage delay. Last week her teacher told me she has concerns that she may be either high functioning autisis or aspergers. I have tried to read everything I can on these two and have joined some commnities here as well. I can't decide which one (if any) I think she is. All I know is that something is not right and it just breaks my heart that i cannot fix it. She had this tantrum-like  outburst at church yesterday because a piece that she glued on an art project fell offand she could not find it. i don;t know if she just could understand that  we were telling her it was gone or what, but i had to drag her to the car, with people staring of course. She went into such a rage that she wore herself into a state of exhustion. Then, she was fine after and she said "mommy, I'm sorry I cried" and she hugged me. I f you are reading this and have any insight on this please feel free to comment here.
We are supposed to talk to the teacher at school who specializes in thse this week. I hope we can get some answers so that we can hepl her before kindergarten starts.

I find myself paranoid about my 19 monthold. I am always watching his deveopment so closely. Trying to see does he do things like she did. His motor skills are better than hers were and he engaes in eye contach, which she did not do, but he still does not talk much. He does seem to ubderstand everything you say to him. His doctor said right noe to just be watchful which I guess that is what i am doing.
